PIPE for spas and pools

I am determined to debunk all this talk about pipe sizes, should be AS/NZ S1477 standard,  some pump sellers have confused people, when it is quite simple. I have been doing this for 35 years!

40mm pressure pipe is 48.3 mm OD, 50mm pressure pipe is 60 mm OD.  The ID depends on the class thickness of pipe, Class 9/ 40 mm pipe ID is 43.9 mm approx. 50 mm class9 ID is about 54.9 mm. We are rarely concerned with ID as the pipe OD is glued inside the standard fittings, called 15, 25, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100 mm even though that is not their actual measurement. 32 mm not made anymore. Class 12 pipe is thicker wall (smaller ID) used on solar pipes as plastic bends with higher water temps.

All pool stuff is supplied standard, mostly problem arises if you buy house pipe from a hardware store, must ask for pressure pipe, or call bob at Ozepool 0243690299 for supplies

NOTE, sometimes there are pump ½ unions made that fit 40 mm pipe inside and 50 mm (fittings not pipe) on the outside, very handy for the installer. Standard 40mm unions may take 50mm pipe on the outside, just heat up and push in, pull out when cold then glue. Easy As!

eBay or not?

Did you know ebay adds 12% ! also $3.50 listing fee AND PayPal takes 2%? SO, call me when you see something on eBay and I will save you some money for exactly the same new product. All being equal the added costs must make ebay more expensive. I would also suggest you may call me for more info from a qualified, licenced swimming pool and spa erector with 35 years in the construction and electrical business. We are not just a dot com or ebay seller although we do do this too.

Pool Liners

WARNING I have been made aware that a large company moved out of the above ground pool market, they sold off the old stock which has made its way onto eBay. apparently these liners were imported, were vacuum packed to fit a smaller box. the result is a liner which maybe faded on the folds, very hard to unfold as they are now old stock. Liners need to be freshly made as sitting in a warehouse for some years is not good. Another aspect is the amount of work to change a liner, why risk it with a degraded product. I'll bet you don't get a 10 year warranty either !! Our low prices are for first quality, fully warranted products, we do not sell old stock, second hand or degraded items.

Removing LM2/3 Chlorinator stickers, etc

"How to remove cracked/labels/stickers on LM2/3 Chlorinators". To make a perfect job, peel what comes off easily, maybe use a blade if brittle,THEN, rub on some WD40, the glue will wipe off. Maybe many little squirts to remove any remaining glue. OK on any hard surface. WD40 is oily, will not attack paint. GOOD to remove texta writing, even on plastic. DO NOT use turps, anything abrasive or other solvents, may attack paints, plastics, your hands too. I'm reluctant to add because of safety concerns, please exercise safe practices. Clear plastic pipe primer is very good at removing glue, but anything other than bare metal or powder coating will be attacked, I do use it on Chlorinator cases to remove labels as they are powder coated, similar to vitreous enamel
